Madras

Chennai, a bustling, commercial, however, coastal city, is the heart of the Indian state ‘Tamil Nadu’. From the architectural marvels such as the ‘kapaleshwar’ temple to the lively marina beach, Chennai offers alot, when it comes to city life.
Although Chennai was definitely the hub, for travel; the main And most beautiful gems of Tamil Nadu lie slightly further out, into the countryside.
Personally i travelled from Chennai to Mahabalipuram, an exquisite beach and coastal town.
I highly recommend ‘ideal beach resort’ here, as it offered me a truly luxurious and memorable beach side holiday; not to mention its magnificent private beach, and excellent south Indian cuisine.
Also in Mahabalipuram, is the lovely shore temple and Pancha Rathas, anciently built stone structures that will surely leave you breath taken.

From here, journey towards the world famous town of Pondicherry, a peaceful ex French colony that boasts many attractions.
The most appealing was a boat ride to paradise beach, an island off the backwaters of Pondicherry.
A more striking factor is, the island being surrounded by the sea on one side and the river on the other.
Now, take a trip to Auroville, a complex, based on the influences of yoga and nature.
Within the gardens, is the illusive Matrimandir, an impressive golden spherical building.
